It's very hard to say goodbye to someone who has done so much for you - given you strength, courage, hope. Someone who has taken you from darkness to light. Someone who changed the way you felt about yourself, and changed your ideas about what you could accomplish in the world. Cheyenne was such a one for me. My golden beauty was an abandoned horse, cared for in a backyard by the kind woman who thought she was too nice a horse to let go. I never knew her breeding, or her age; but she brought me back from utter hopelessness to joy. Two weeks after receiving my Perpetual Trophy as Champion, 2016, she colicked. With all the love in my heart, I said goodbye to my beloved friend. I will cherish her for the rest of my life.
